11.17

Mods 4 and 6 will complete the Ketchup Your Mustard Review.

KETCHUP

Mod 7 will complete Physical and Chemical Changes

Students cut paper, burned paper and boiled water.  Then, they used the whiteboards to illustrate results in terms of physical and chemical changes.

11.16

Mod 6 will complete the Flame Test.

Mods 3 and 7 will complete Ketchup Your Mustard ( a review to gain points back)

KETCHUP

11.13

Mods 3, 4 and 7 completed the Flame Test.

Students added heat to certain chemical solutions to look for patterns in the periodic table.

Below, two students are heating a copper chloride solution.

11.10

Mod 6 completed Periodic Necklaces.

Mods 3 and 7 completed The Last Straw

Students had to create a 3D model of the periodic table to illustrate periodic trends with atomic
       radius.

The following is one example of the 3D model.

Big Ideas: Atomic Radius increases down
a group and decreases across a period.

11.9

e-harmony: Students wore periodic necklaces featuring an element symbol with a charge.  Based on the charge, students had to find their "soulmate".

Also, we completed the Ion Bead Lab: Students had to determine the charge based on the number of protons and electrons in the sample.  See below.
